Academic Staff

District 438 Academic Staff Members,

By way of introduction, I am, Joann Pritchett, Assistant to the Dean and Director of Minority Affairs in the School of Pharmacy. I would like to take this opportunity to inform you that I will be serving you as the representative for District 438 on the Academic Staff Assembly.

Who are we?
District 438 members include professionals and managers within the medical sciences center area with chemistry as the focus. Why? I don't know. We are:

o the Medical School (Anesthesiology, Pharmacology, Physiology)
o Psychiatric Institute and
o Pharmacy (Pharmacy and the Sonderegger Research Center)

I have had a crash course and I am learning the ropes about my responsibilities as District 438 representative as I write. There is much to learn!

For those of you who wish NOT to receive information in the form of emails, Academic Staff Assembly minutes, please do not hesitate to let me know and I will remove your name from the email list. You will be informed of issues to be discussed during monthly Academic Staff Assembly meetings as well as issues that will require input from you. When necessary, I would like to call upon you for your response and/or call upon you to provide me with issues/concerns that you would like to have addressed.

There are attachments below that you may or may not find of interest to you. Do feel very free to express your concerns.

Do let me know how BEST to serve you!

Best Regards,
Joann

Subject: Greetings Members of Academic Staff District #498,

Greetings Members of Academic Staff District #498,

It is with great pleasure that I contact you to inform you that effective July, I am serving as the representative for this district on the Academic Staff Assembly. Belinda Velazquez, who has done an honorable job representing our district is now serving on the Executive Committee for the Academic Staff Assembly.

For those who don't recognize my email address, I am Sara Hinkel, currently serving as the LGBT Issues Coordinator for the Dean of Students. I am pleased to serve all of you in the capacity of representative and encourage you to contact me with concerns or issues you would like the Academic Staff Assembly to address. Please be patient with me, however, as my orientation will take place in August and I am still learning about my new responsibilities! In addition, Becky Ryan, Senior Advisor for the Cross College Advising Services will be serving as alternate representative for this district.

For your information, I am attaching the minutes of the Academic Staff Town Meetings held this spring. I hope you find them as helpful as I have for learning more about the concerns brought forward by academic staff.

Again, it is a pleasure to serve as your assembly representative. I hope that you are enjoying these warm summer months.

Best Wishes,
Sara Hinkel
