CEBC Meeting
July 9, 2003
12:15-1:30 p.m.
Present: Ron Carda, Bill Steffenhagen, Jim Pavelko, Marcia Jezwinski,
Greg Iaccarino, Elizabeth Gall, and Karen Tusack

Minutes from the May 2003 meeting were approved as distributed.

ASA Coverage – ASA begins in September – Bill Steffenhagen
agreed to
represent CEBC at ASA in 2003-04.
Old Business:
Jim Pavelko reported on the status of the academic staff equity
subcommittee of Jim Pavelko, Margaret Harrigan, Ann Lamboley and Bill
Steffenhagen who met and are discussing processes to address academic
staff equity on campus. The subcommittee is meeting throughout the
summer and hope to have a proposal for CEBC for the September CEBC
meeting.
The Summer Leadership Conference is scheduled for 7/17 and 7/18/03.
Jim Pavelko, Greg Iaccarino and Marcia Jezwinski are scheduled to
attend.
Election of Officers - the following were elected as CEBC Officers for
2003-04:
Ron Carda – Chair
Bill Steffenhagen – ViceChair
Adam Steinberg – Secretary
New Business:
A concern was raised regarding the variability of supervisor abilities
on campus. A suggestion was made for CEBC to consider providing or
encouraging campus supervisors to attend training. Encouragement from
Dean’s Offices for supervisor training participation was discussed.
Ron Carda reported on the health insurance three tier plan scheduled
to
begin in January, 2004. CEBC will be monitoring developments in this
area as information becomes available.
CEBC meetings for 2003-04 will be on the first Wednesday of the month
at noon-1:30. Locations will be decided in the future.
