ASEC reports

Oct. 11 meeting--Adam attended.
ASEC was wondering why there wasn't another category to single and family for health insurance-PPO (person plus one).Bill pointed out that the System Fringe Benefits Advisory Committee had already discussed this and concluded it would be too expensive to be practical.

Linda Neuman pointed out how Academic Staff sometimes feel that they are treated in a negative way by the faculty and that we as Academic Saff should be careful that we do not treat Classified Staff in this same manner.

November 1 meeting--Larry Davis attended.
ASEC is encouraging academic staff to contribute to the endowment fund for academic staff. Jean Buehlman resigned from ASEC. The information for academic staff Excellence Awards will be out soon. The Faculty Senate will introduce a motion requiring the faculty to approve all requests for the honorific professorial titles. The School of Business and other units that use the titles need to speak up at the next Faculy Senate Meeting. ASEC asserts that the departments' executive committees should make the decisions about the honorific professorial titles.
