CEBC MEETING
September 6, 2000
Present: Ronnie Carda, JoAnn Carr, Janice Czyscon, Larry Davis, Reggie Gauger, Walt Hopkins, Bill Steffenhagen, Adam Steinberg
Minutes from the August 2, 2000 meeting were approved. Larry Davis was elected vice chair of CEBC.
Ronnie will check on the status of Bob Paulos' membership on CEBC.
Reggie Gauger reported that there will be a campus fringe benefits fair on October 2. Reggie agreed to contact Kathleen O'Rourke Benjamin to determine her schedule of other benefits presentations for this year.
Bill Steffenhagen agreed to find out what topics PDRC plans to cover at their brown bag discussions this year.
JoAnn Carr asked CEBC members to send her any comments about the draft brochure on academic staff salary increases and promotions by September 20, 2000. JoAnn, Reggie and Adam will ask Steve Lund and Carla Raatz for their review after the October CEBC meeting. At our October meeting we will also discuss holding a meeting for academic staff after we distribute the brochure to them. The meeting may focus on further discussion of the issues raised in the brochure and/or portfolio building. We will continue discussing if the CEBC will conduct semiannual presentations on career development issues in the spring and another topic in the fall.
At the October CEBC meeting we will discuss whether we want to look into the issue of converting unused sick leave to health insurance benefits at retirement.
