CEBC Meeting Minutes
11/3/99
Present: Jo Ann Carr, Janice Czyscon, Larry Davis, Reggie Gauger, Walt Hopkins
Absent: Ronnie Carda, Bill Kelly, Nellie Laughlin, Bob Paulos
Minutes from the 5/5/99 meeting were approved with corrections. Minutes from the 10/6/99 meeting were approved as distributed.
Reggie Gauger proposed that CEBC co-sponsor some workshops planned by the Retirement Association. He said he would bring more concrete ideas to the next CEBC meeting.
Walt Hopkins agreed to communicate to ASEC that CEBC goes on record as supporting the first day pickup of health insurance, but would prefer to see it retroactive to July 1, 1999 like all the other budget items.

Walt will contact Bill Kelly about meeting attendance.
We will monitor the status of the change in multiplier.
In response to an inquiry Walt received, Walt contacted Steve Lund about ALRA and gap in service. Steve said if an employee returns to the University within three years, the employee can count years of service prior to leaving toward the ten years needed to qualify for ALRA participation. The CEBC decided this was fair.
Janice gave a brief update on the domestic partner project. We agreed to focus on changes the university and Regents could make to extend domestic partner benefits to university employees. To this end, Walt agreed to set up a meeting with the Faculty Senate Comp Committee. Larry agreed to set up a meeting with Steve Lund and Jack Wilson. Jo Ann agreed to set up a meeting with the System Fringe Benefits Committee.
