CEBC Meeting 2/2/99

In attendance: Walt Hopkins, Linda Keller, Bob Paulos, Janice Czyscon, Ronnie Carda

Senator Richard Grobschmidt (D-Milwaukee) has introduced a bill to provide health insurance immediately rather than waiting 6 months.

Linda said that Dane County has asked for a study on DP benefits for their employees.

Elections

Bottom line is we can serve more than 2 terms.

Donating Sick Leave

Equate it to colleague coverage (the sick faculty member does not have to use sick time.)
Classified staff has a donating sick leave policy.

Academic Staff should have some kind of policy. The CEBC supports donating sick leave. Bob Paulos will look into it. He will talk to Steve Lund about why Academic Staff can't do this now.

ASEC formed an ad hoc committee on Long-Term Appointments to find out why there are not more of these. Walt Hopkins is on the committee.

Distinguished Prefix Criteria

The CEBC should follow up on whether the criteria are slanted toward certain titles.
