CEBC Meeting Minutes
10/6/99
Present: Ronnie Carda, Jo Ann Carr, Janice Czyscon, Reggie Gauger, Walt Hopkins, Nellie Laughlin,
Walt Hopkins announced that the Nominating Committee appointed Jo Ann Carr to replace the seat on CEBC previously held by Stephen Snow.
Janice Czyscon gave a brief update on domestic partner health insurance benefits. She noted that State Representative Mark Pocan will introduce two bills on domestic partner benefits on October 19, 1999
We looked over three bills: SB 119, AB 426 and AB 495 and agreed to check them out on the legislature's web site.
Reggie Gauger presented the budget summary from Charles Hoslet in terms of what it provides. For details refer to http://www.news.wisc.edu/chancellor/staterelations
Walt Hopkins reported that he attended the ASEC meeting on 9/23/99, where he received the 1998-99 Sick Leave Report to the Regents. Walt will send copies to the members of CEBC. In a nutshell, the provost will encourage faculty and staff to report sick leave accurately.
CEBC members will report back to Walt about which ASEC meetings they can attend.
Walt will determine when the System Fringe Benefits Committee meets. We will then try to identify a CEBC liaison to that committee.
At our next meeting we will discuss CEBC issues for the upcoming year.
