CEBC Meeting 1/6/98

In attendance: Robert Paulos (chair), Janice Czyscon, Larry Davis,

Informal Meeting
We will meet at the University Club at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, January
20, 1998 for an informal meeting.
New Business
We agreed to look at the Optional Retirement Plan document that was included
in the materials for the January Assembly meeting.
Committee on Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual Issues
Bob Paulos will present the full report to ASEC at the 1/22/98 ASEC meeting.
Bob will ask ASEC to take the report to the Academic Staff Assembly for
endorsement by the assembly. Janice Czyscon will attend the meeting. She
will ask Rich Keeling, chair of the Committee on Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual
Issues to attend the meeting also.
Janice Czyscon and Larry Davis agreed to identify the recommendations in the report that are clearly compensation and benefits issues. Janice will e-mail them to the CEBC. We will discuss these recommendations at the 1/20/98 informal meeting. Janice will invite Rich Keeling to the February 3, 1998 CEBC meeting. She will ask him to summarize who may be doing anything on campus related to the report's domestic partner benefits recommendation, and how CEBC can address this issue. We noted that Hank Lufler should be approached regarding domestic partner benefits.
Approval of Minutes
We approved minutes from the 9/2/97, 9/17/97, and 10/23/97 meetings. Janice
must write minutes from the 11/19/97 meeting. Linda must write minutes from
the December 1997 meeting.
CEBC Web Site
Janice welcomed suggestions for additional sites to link to from the CEBC
site.
