CEBC Annual Report for FY 2005

 

Chair: William Steffenhagen

Members: Elizabeth Gall, Greg Iaccarino, H. Adam Steinberg, Karen Tusack, Marcia Jezwinski, Meredith Ross, Susan Crowley, Thomas Achtor.

 

Resolutions presented to the ASA:

1. On Vacation Credits Upon Retirement, Layoff, Termination or TRANSFER:    “...that the UW-Madison Campus will comply with ALRA payout requests of terminating employees unless institutional harm can be demonstrated.”  This resolution was eventually passed by the ASA.

2. On Mandatory Promotion Reviews: “The Academic Staff Assembly approves establishing a system of annual promotion reviews of

            - Category A professional series employees holding the associate title prefix for

            three or more years in their current appointments and employees holding the no

            prefix title with eight or more years in their current appointments and

            - Category B employees holding the lowest title prefix for six or more years in

            their current appointments and the middle title prefix for six or more years in

            their current appointments.”

    This resolution was eventually passed by the ASA.

 

CEBC staffed a table at the Annual UW-Madison Benefits and Resources Fair, handing out literature on benefits and collected comments and suggestions.

 

CEBC co-sponsored an interesting and provocative brownbag with Barbara Quirk, R.N., GNP, on “The Real Costs of Caregiving,” on April 25, 2006

 

We also sponsored, in conjunction with ECABS, the following info sessions:

1. Academic Staff - Your Benefits - Mid Career Benefits Update

2. Academic Staff  - Your Benefits - Employee Reimbursement Accounts

3. Academic Staff - Your Benefits - Deferred Compensation/Tax Sheltered Annuities (TSAs)
