1. CEBC worked with the Personnel Policies and Procedures Committee regarding Category A salary caps. Ranges are too narrow, new hires are generally coming in at 120% of minimum. Propose to move the maximum from 150% of minimum to 175% or 200%, which would be the same a classified staff. Deferred due to state budget deficit.

2. CEBC reviewed the Campus Climate survey from the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences Committee on Academic Staff Issues (CASI), then proposed the initiation of a similar campus wide survey. After further study, it was deferred for individual CASIs to pursue.

3. CEBC reviewed the Academic staff layoff notification periods and passed a proposal to lengthen them. The proposal was forwarded to the Assembly for approval. The Assembly approved the proposal in Fall 02.
