"How to Write at Successful Professional Development Grant"

Is there a conference or other training you'd like to attend between January 1, 2009, and June 30, 2009, but your department just doesn't have the funds? Is there a speaker you'd like to invite to our campus for a lecture or workshop? Consider applying for an academic staff professional development grant. Grants can cover up to half the cost of your training if your department agrees to pay the other half. And typically well over half of the grant applications receive funding!

PD grants are a great opportunity for academic staff to expand their skills. Find out the types of activities covered and what makes a "good" grant proposal at a free brown bag discussion. Kevin Niemi and Sarah Schutt of the Professional Development and Recognition Committee (PDRC) will present information and tips.

PD grant applications are due to Chair or Director's office by October 10.
