Professional Development and Recognition Committee (PDRC)
The PDRC is a standing committee of the UW-Madison Academic Staff Assembly that:
- Promotes the concept of professional development and recognition
for academic staff;
- Works with the administration to explore and
develop programs to enhance the professional skills and abilities of
academic staff;
- Makes recommendations regarding the review of and
changes to academic staff professional development guidelines; and
- Works
with the administration, the UW Foundation and the faculty to locate or
create funding resources for professional development.
The primary responsibilities of the PDRC include:
- Selecting the Academic Staff
Excellence Awards recipients and Academic Staff Professional
Development grant recipients, which include awards fpr research, teaching, leadership, service to the university, and outreach;
- Selecting the Academic Staff Professional Development grant
recipients, which focus on professional development and/or training to
improve the effectiveness of academic staff in their current roles;
- Advising the Academic Staff Mentoring Program; and
- Providing information to the academic staff community about awards and professional development opportunities, including how you apply tfor them and application processes.
