ASEC Announces Ad Hoc Committee on Collective Bargaining

On Thursday, October 8, the Academic Staff Executive Committee (ASEC) voted unanimously to form an ad hoc committee on collective bargaining. ASEC has approved the following charge for the committee: The Ad Hoc Committee on Collective Bargaining is charged with ensuring access to objective information on collective bargaining and its potential impact on academic staff. The committee will also monitor activities on campus related to collective bargaining. The committee will communicate information on issues and activities to academic staff.

The committee will be relatively small comprised of 6-8 members including members from several of the Assembly's Standing Committees (CEBC, PPPC, and the Communications Committee). The remaining members will be selected by ASEC from those academic staff who express interest in participating.

If you are interested in being considered for this committee, please send a brief (one paragraph) statement about your interest in the committee as well as contributions you will be able to make (i.e., specific knowledge, data, etc.) to the Secretary of the Academic Staff (acstaff@bascom.wisc.edu) no later than Thursday, October 29.
